Workstyling Discounts & Sales ("the app") schedules sale prices in Shopify stores: it lowers product prices when a sale starts and puts them back when it ends. This policy explains what the app stores, why, and what happens to it.
What we collect
- Store details: your store's myshopify domain and the access token Shopify issues when you install the app, so the app can act for your store.
- Sales you set up: names, discounts, start and end times, time zone, and which products and variants are included.
- Price backups: each variant's price and compare-at price from before a sale, so they can be restored exactly when the sale ends. While a variant is discounted, a copy is also kept in your store on the variant (metafield
smart_sale.backup), so prices can be restored even if the app is removed and installed again later; it is deleted as soon as the price is back. - Sale history: a log of every price change and restore, with its result, shown in the app's sale reports.
- Settings: your margin protection settings, minimum price rules, preferred time zone and, if you set one, the email address for sale notifications. Otherwise notifications go to your store's email as Shopify has it; that address isn't stored by the app.
To check margins, the app reads each variant's "Cost per item" from Shopify while it works. Costs are used on the spot and not stored.
To warn you before a sale, the app also reads your automatic discounts and discount codes (titles, codes and which products they cover). They are kept in memory for about a minute, never stored, and never changed.
Orders, for sale results: to show how a sale did, the app reads which products each order contained, how many and what was paid, for the sale's period and the same length of time before it. Only totals are shown and briefly cached in memory; orders aren't stored, and no customer fields are requested.
What we don't collect
The app doesn't access your customers or payment details, and doesn't use cookies or tracking for advertising. It asks Shopify only for permission to read and update products, read inventory (costs and stock), read discounts and read orders (for sale results).
How we use it
Only to run the app for you: to change and restore prices on schedule, show previews and reports, and enforce your plan. We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't share it with anyone except the service providers that host the app and its database, send its emails and report its errors to us, under confidentiality obligations. Error reports carry your store's domain and the sale involved, never customer data.
Billing
Paid plans are billed by Shopify. We never see your payment details; Shopify only tells us whether your store has an active plan.
Retention and deletion
- While the app is installed, sale history and price backups are kept so you can see what changed and every price can be restored.
- If you uninstall the app, it can no longer change prices, so a sale that is running at that moment can't restore them by itself. Your data is kept for 48 hours so that reinstalling can still put those prices back. After that, Shopify asks us to erase your store's data and we delete all of it.
- You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time by contacting the support contact on our App Store listing.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access tokens and database credentials are kept out of source code and limited to the app's servers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you can ask to access, correct or delete your data. Contact the support contact on our App Store listing and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date. Big changes will also be announced in the app.
